on the market these days. What is the best way to determine the appropriate snoring devices for you which will yield the most positives?

You need to first understand why it is that you're snoring in the first place. This is caused because many people sleep on their backs with their mouths open. This forces an unnatural condition of breathing exclusively through the mouth. In these instances, the best snoring device to use might be a basic snore pillow to cradle and support your head as you sleep. Body pillows that you place under the small of your back will prop you up and make great snoring devices. This will give you more success in refraining from rolling onto your back than any other home remedies.

Mouth guards are another snoring devices that keep the jaw aligned. These guards are usually fitted by your dentist and should be comfortable enough to wear at night without interfering with your sleep. This is why it's important to have it fitted properly; one that's too loose will not keep your jaw in place and one that's not loose enough will be painful to wear. If the mouth guard doesn't stop your snoring, you can check with your doctor/dentist for recommendations of other devices on the market.

Most pharmacies stock numerous aids and devices designed to stop snoring. Nasal strips, which gently pull your nostrils apart, work well for many. {Drops and sprays can help to keep your throat coated and moist.} You can also put a humidifier or vaporizer in your bedroom; you might not think of these as snoring devices but they do help to keep your throat moist as well. There seems to be some relief from snoring with all of these remedies.

Fast and Effective Sleep Apnea Treatment

If you experience sleep apnea, it is extremely vital that you know about the various treatments. Sleep apnia is dismissed by some as merely a minor inconvenience but the deprivation of oxygen to the body , even for a short spell can have very serious health consequences . The brain is designed to need oxygen and without it brain cells will die. When the body doesn't breathe it's not expelling carbon dioxide the way it should and so toxins can build up in the blood. If you have sleep apnea there are a number of reasons why you need to be concerned about treatment.

The first and most obvious sleep apnea treatment for many is to lose weight. Sleep apnea is often caused by excess fatty tissue collapsing on the airway around the neck in overweight or obese people. Being overweight is dangerous to one's health for a variety of reasons and it being a sleep apnea treatment is one of them. Extreme cases of sleep apnea may have been the causes of some terrible cases in which obese people died in their sleep. Losing weight and keeping it off is a very difficult prospect for many but it's very vital for overall good health.

When considering sleep apnea treatment, the environment in the bedroom is very important. A room that's dry and stuffy may cause sinuses to dry up and get clogged and this can interrupt one's breathing. Although a quality humidifier or vaporizer can be an inexpensive purchase, it can perform miraculously in maintaining clear sinus cavities and stable breathing. Moisture also helps the lungs to work properly and keeps them healthy as well. You might not have thought of a humidifier as a form of sleep apnea treatment but you should look into it. Menthol, eucalyptus and marjoram are also favorite homemade remedies to keep the sinuses open so that the body can breathe properly.

People who suffer with severe sleep apnea benefit from the CPAP machine. {This modified oxygen machine comes with a mask that slips over the nose and mouth and gently pushes oxygen into the body at a steady rate.} This means that the machine will maintain the regular flow of oxygen even if the patient ceases to breath for themselves .

Reasons To Familiarize Yourself With Sleep Apnea Symptoms

Do you think you're experiencing sleep apnea symptoms? It is vital that you seriously consider all of these symptoms. While you may not realize the dangers of sleep apnea, they do exist. Most people don't even know that they have this dangerous health condition. Typically they assume that they have some other condition, are unfamiliar with sleep apnea symptoms, or simply dismiss the condition as being trivial.

The common sleep apnea symptoms deal with the lack of sleep that many sufferers experience. When a person experiences sleep apnea or the cessation of breathing during the night, the body will wake itself up just long enough to get breathing again. Because of the fact that most people who suffer from sleep apnea go back to sleep very quickly they have no idea that they even had a period of time that they were awake. But this interrupts the natural sleep pattern and doesn't allow someone to get a full, restful night's sleep. Fatigue during daytime hours, being drowsy or sizzy during the day, irritability, moodiness, yawning a lot, or falling asleep during unsuitable times can be a sign of sleep apnea. A lack of sleep can also cause morning headaches and so these too are common sleep apnea symptoms.

Difficulty breathing during the day is not uncommon for those who have sleep apnea, and extremely loud snoring or different types of snoring can be considered sleep apnea symptoms. Choking, gasping, wheezing, snorting, and sounds like these are common for those who have sleep apnea as they are actually signs that the person is trying to get oxygen. People will often think these sounds are typical for snoring but in reality, they aren't. If you're not sure of the sounds you make when you sleep, a simple tape recorder next to the bed can work wonders; your doctor can even review the sounds you make to see if they may be possible sleep apnea symptoms.

See a physician if you have any of these sleep apnea symptoms. You can also make adjustments to help you breathe better at night, such as putting a humidifier in the bedroom and propping yourself up during sleep. You can get some help from a snore pillow since it cradles the head and neck which assists in keeping your breathing clear as the airway passages stay open. Sleep apnea is very dangerous, if you have the symptoms please see a doctor as soon as possible.

Have You Considered Trying Snoring Earplugs?

If you have a partner that snores excessively, you may be at your wit's end trying to get some sleep yourself. Although snoring may seem like a minor annoyance, relationships have ended because of it! But before you pack your bags - or worse, give in to the temptation of holding a pillow over that person's face while they sleep - why not consider using some snoring earplugs? These tiny devices can provide the comfort you need to finally get a good night's sleep regardless of the noise coming from the person next to you. Here are some tips to remember when choosing and using snoring earplugs.

Remember that you're going to need to get some sleep when wearing these, so your snoring earplugs should be very comfortable. You don't want the same type of earplugs that you might wear during other times such as when swimming; these types of earplugs might not be comfortable enough to let you sleep soundly. Earplugs designed to completely block the sound of snoring are usually made of softer foam than other earplugs, and they fit comfortably but snugly so you are able to sleep. The strength of the foam material keeps it in shape thus eliminating the need for any adjustment during the night.

Some snoring earplugs are meant to fit over the ears like headphones but of course they're not quite that big. These models are perfect for those who find that the smaller earplugs fall out over the course of the night. It can take a bit of time to get used to the feeling, but over-the-ear snoring earplugs are comfy to wear and offer the best level of noise protection.

Of course addressing the snoring problem at its root is best for everyone involved; snoring earplugs are a good fix for the partner but if the snorer can be cured of their problem this is healthier for everyone involved. It better to get the snoring problem fixed because it can cause people to not get any sleep or wake up a person, including the person that is snoring. Simple homemade solutions are drops and sprays you can get at the pharmacy, using a humidifier in the bedroom, and of course snore pillows to support the head and neck or to keep the snorer on his or her side.

Try These Easy Stop Snoring Exercises

If you snore there are of course many things you can do to help alleviate this problem, from drops and sprays to a simple humidifier in the bedroom. Some kind of breathing problem might also be the reason behind why a person snores but doing stop snoring exercises can easily treat it. Let's take a look at what we mean by that.

Unlike other exercises, these stop snoring exercises are designed to help you with your breathing and to improve your lung function. Stronger lungs reduce the incidence of choking, gasping or wheezing while asleep and improve free breathing through the nose. When you have less lung capacity you're more likely to be breathing through your mouth in order to get enough air and can be making all those other sounds as well. Easy exercises to prevent snoring including stretching and breathing, which are most effective right before bed.

To get started with your snoring exercises, stand with your feet shoulder width apart and take a few very deep breaths, exhaling very slowly. Shrug your shoulders slightly and roll your head slowly from side to side. Then, you should reach both hands over your head while inhaling; then, exhale while lowering your arms to your sides. Do this a few times as you feel your lungs stretch and expand. Problems may arise the first few evenings after you complete the stop snoring exercises, but continuing them ensures that your lungs will eventually breathe more deeply. Simple stretching and breathing exercise may also be added but straining and excessive activity should be avoided before going to bed. Your stop snoring exercises are simply meant to stretch your muscles and to get your lungs to breathe deeply and easily. When you do back-stretching exercises, you'll find they can promote sleep by relaxing you and preventing tension in your upper body. If your neck isn't tense you're less likely to have your jaw fall open and to start breathing through your mouth. If you need more structured stop snoring exercises, try a simple tai chi or yoga routine as these usually emphasize easy stretching and deep breathing and typically can be done by anyone regardless of physical fitness level.

Some Easy Homemade Snoring Aids

Do you snore? You're not the only one this happens to. Many people are affected to various degrees by this annoying and awkward habit. Extreme cases of snoring, mean loud snoring or noises that sound like gasping, wheezing, or choking should be addressed by a doctor as they may mean a more serious condition. For the millions of people who have only a mild problem, here are some quick and easy homemade remedies to try.

One of the things that can cause snoring is when the head falls back below neck level, causing the mouth to fall open. Breathing through your mouth dries up the throat and thus creates snoring. A lot of the self made snoring aids will help you position your head properly and help prevent your throat from drying out. One thing that many people find effective is to keep the head of the bed propped up; this will keep your own head from falling backwards. You might not think of a couple of old books as being homemade snoring aids but if you put them under the legs of the bed at the head of it you'll find it very effective.

To keep your throat moist and hydrated, think of a good warm mist humidifier or vaporizer as easy snoring aids. These machines keep the bedroom -- and your throat --from drying out too much, even if your do end up breathing through your mouth.

You can also use some menthol, eucalyptus, or marjoram as well. These are other options for overcoming snoring since they keep the sinuses open allowing air to bypass your mouth. A store selling natural foods, or health products is your best bet to find these items. They may even be labeled as snoring aids since many people use them at bedtime to keep their breathing free and clear.

If you have a deviated septum, clogged sinuses, or a problem with your soft palate, naturally these homemade remedies will not be enough. Things such as these block your inhalations, and you will definitely snore. If the homemade snoring aids don't work for you, it's time to visit a doctor and get professional advice.

Natural Snoring Remedies

Just about everyone snores from time to time, but for some people this habit can be more than just an occasional frustration. Snoring can be just a minor irritation to some people but to others it can be a major problem leading to exhaustion and throat damage or even divorce. But there are many natural natural snoring remedies that you can try that might work just as well as anything your doctor might prescribe. Let's take a look at some of these and see if they might work in your case.

Most natural snoring remedies work by coating the throat and mouth so that the skin and tissue doesn't get dry. When skin and tissue is dry this makes the sound we call snoring as air passes over them. Think of what coats your throat and keeps it moist. Quite a lot of people swear by honey. A good humidifier or vaporizer are also considered natural snoring remedies as they work to keep the mouth and throat moisturized; considering using either of these in your bedroom especially during the dry winter months.

Other natural snoring remedies work to keep the nasal passages open so that you can breathe easily through the nose rather than the mouth. Popular ones are eucalyptus or menthol; or you could try leaving open a a jar of marjoram. A cough drop before bedtime can help to keep your sinuses clear, just make sure that it's completely dissolved before you fall asleep so you don't risk choking on it. Your sinus remedies are all natural snoring remedies as well since they keep the nasal passages open.

Nasal strips that you purchase at the pharmacy can also be considered effective snoring remedies. These gently pull apart the nostrils so that the airways are not constricted. This helps to keep a person breathing through their nose rather than their mouth. People appreciate using these because it means no drugs or chemicals in the system and because they're so affordable as well. Propping up some pillows under the small of your back to keep you on your side can also work with your natural snoring remedies to cut down on your snoring. If you and your partner want to get some proper sleep then give these remedies a go and don't foeget it can be even more beneficial if try using more than one at the same time!

Some Tips on Effective Anti Snoring Devices

Snoring is more than just an annoying habit, regardless of how it's sometimes humorously portrayed in the movies and on television. Unfortunately some relationships have even ended due to one partner's snoring! But before you visit the divorce lawyer, you might want to consider the most effective anti snoring devices that are available today and that might provide a measure of relief.

Most anti snoring devices address the dryness of the throat that causes the sound called snoring. If you breathe through your mouth when you're awake, your throat is coated and doesn't make that rattling sound. But if you sleep with your mouth open the throat tissue of course gets dry and then the air passing over it when you breathe makes you snore. Some simple anti snoring devices that address this might be a good snore pillow which cradles the head and neck and keeps the mouth from falling open. This means the throat won't get dry and you'll be less likely to breathe through your mouth. While some anti snoring devices have been recommended to keep a person from sleeping on their back, these were usually abandoned because they were terribly uncomfortable. Yes, rolling onto a tennis ball sewn into your pajama's waistband might make you roll back onto your side but will probably also cause you some pain as well! So some new products are designed like pillows to cradle you on your side.

Other anti snoring devices that keep the throat coated include simple drops and sprays, or even a good humidifier in the bedroom. These can keep the throat moist so that even if the mouth does fall open it won't dry up the throat tissue as much.

Nasal strips are typically available at your local pharmacy and work to pull the outside of the nose out a bit, to keep the airway clear. There are also anti snoring devices prescribed by your doctor. A mouth guard can keep the jaw pushed forward and in proper alignment so you're less likely to breathe through your mouth. Most of these types of anti snoring devices are very effective for those who try them and offer a good measure of relief. So if you're suffering from snoring, either yours or your bedmate's, why not give them a try? You may find that you can finally sleep through the night without being bothered by snoring!

Do You Know Your Cause of Snoring

If you snore and are looking to stop, have you figured out your particular cause of snoring? You might be thinking that the cause isn't as important as the cure, but in reality these two are linked in a very crucial way. If you don't know the real cause of snoring in your case, how can you correct it? Imagine trying to fix a pain in your knee without finding out what's causing the pain; you would probably just be wasting your time, money, and energies! So it's the same with snoring - you should find out the cause before you can address a possible cure.

What might be the cause of snoring in your case? Typically the most common cause is sleeping on your back which then leads to the head falling below the neck and the mouth falling open so that a person then breathes through their mouth rather than their nose. The sound we know as snoring is made when air passes over the tissues of the mouth nose and throat which have become dry. This may be the most common cause of snoring and probably the easiest to fix. A snore pillow can keep the head and neck aligned by supporting them and so prevent the mouth from opening. There are also snore pillows that cradle a person when they're sleeping on their side so that they won't be inclined to roll over onto their backs. While a sleeping position may not be the cause of snoring in your case, a snoring pillow can offer a lot of support for the upper back and shoulders so it can be a worthy investment in any case.

Dry tissue in the throat is another common cause of snoring. When the tissue is dry it will create all sorts of sounds when a person is breathing. This too is a quick fix. A good humidifier in the bedroom as well as some throat drops and sprays can go a long way toward coating the throat at night. If you're not sure if this is your cause of snoring, think of whether or not your throat is sore or scratchy when you wake up. When drops and sprays don't do the trick, it may be time to see a doctor for a thorough exam so that he or she can pinpoint your exact cause of snoring and make personal recommendations from there.

Home Snoring Remedy

Making up an easy home snoring remedy is not as difficult as you might imagine it would be, however, it also doesn't necessarily involve the "ingredients" and steps you might imagine. Sometimes the answer you need to sort out your snoring is very straightforward. Let's take a look at what we mean by that and see if we can't find a home remedy for snoring in your case.

Losing weight might be the only solution you need to cure your snoring. When you're overweight the excess body fat around your neck can squeeze the airway there and cause tissue in the throat to block this passage. The sound that we call snoring is made when air pases over this tissue. Excess body fat can also put pressure on the lungs especially when you're laying down. This can make a person choke, gasp or wheeze during the night and even though these sounds aren't technically snoring, most people consider them to be. So eating better and exercising might not have been what you would consider a home remedy for snoring but of course they certainly should be!

Eucalyptus and menthol are also goo home remedies for snoring. Many people use a menthol rub for when they have a cold or stuffed up sinuses, as keeping sinuses clear can help one breathe through their nose rather than their mouth which in turn means less snoring. Rub a little menthol under your nose as this will help you tremendously. Marjoram is another favorite home remedy for snoring; this is sold in jars and you simply open the lid and keep it next to your bed at night. The aroma fills the bedroom and keeps your sinuses clear.

You can also use a vaporizer as a home remedy for snoring if you add a bit of menthol or eucalyptus oil to it. This will help to disperse the fragrance all night and keep you breathing freely for hours. Even a vaporizer or humidifier on its own can be considered a good home remedy for snoring as dry air can make your sinuses and throat dry as well. Also, be aware that you don't just have to stick to one remedy. Using a couple in conjunction can be very beneficial.

Central Sleep Apnea Must be Taken Seriously

You may already know that the term sleep apnea refers to any cessation of breathing during sleep; apnea means a loss of breath and so sleep apnea is when a person stops breathing when asleep. However one of the most dangerous forms of this condition is central sleep apnea, where the body fails to signal the lungs to inhale on a regular basis. Oxygen isn't getting in to the body as it should if a person isn't inhaling properly and regularly. This regular cycle of oxygen is so important that the body can and does force itself to breathe even if you consciously try to hold your breath. The problems with central sleep apnea are not to be dismissed.

During periods of central sleep apnea, the heart will respond to this lack of oxygen intake by increasing the heart rate, causing stress and strain to the heart muscles. When you exercise you heart rate speeds up which is good for you but this is not the same. An increased heart rate during exercise is always accompanied by breathing oxygen in and carbon dioxide out, but not so with central sleep apnea! The heart is having to work harder but it is doing so without oxygen which can be very damaging.

It's believed that central sleep apnea can trigger seizures in the patient. This is caused by the sudden drop in blood oxygen levels, and this occurs whether the person has a seizure disorder or not. Other problems that can arise due to central sleep apnes can include heart attacks and angina. Additionally, the lack of regular breathing that occurs with any form of sleep apnea can result in a buildup of carbon dioxide in the bloodstream which means blood poisoning.

As with all kinds of sleep apnea, central sleep apnea should be investigated as soon as possible. Obese people needto bring their weight down. A snore pillow can keep the head from falling back and the tongue from blocking the throat and airway. A humidifier in the bedroom can help with keeping sinuses open. In severe cases, especially when dealing with central sleep apnea, a CPAP machine can keep oxygen pumping into the body at regular intervals. This is not something that you should bury your head in the sand about - you have to address the issue!

Natural Cures For Snoring

Cures for Snoring Video

If you're wondering how to stop snoring, this may be a search for yourself or for someone with whom you're trying to share a bed. Either way, snoring can keep you up for hours and hours on end, and make you restless, irritable, and almost unable to function the next day. A chronic lack of sleep can also cause serious health problems and make you lethargic. Sometimes a person will fall asleep during the day when they shouldn't because of someone's snoring at night.

There are many things you might consider when it comes to how to stop snoring, and many homemade or simple remedies are just as effective as anything you'll get from your doctor or dentist. Of course, if your doctor has told you that the only thing he or she can recommend regarding how to stop snoring for you is medication or a surgery, then or course you need to follow your physician's advice. It's not up to us to interfere with that! But for others, there are some simple plans and changes you can make to help you get past this bad habit.

Have you ever noticed that a menthol cough drop not only helps soothe your cough but also clears your sinuses as well? The action of the menthol clears away obstructions and built-up mucus in your sinus cavities. Very often a person snores because their nasal cavities are blocked, forcing them to breathe through their mouth.

Ask yourself if you wake up with a very dry mouth or a very sore throat. Does it feel scratchy and irritated in the morning? Is your mouth sticky with plaque buildup? Of course everyone's mouth is dry in the morning, but if you have some pain and discomfort, you may have your first clue in how to stop snoring.

One of the better cures for snoring for many people is to add a humidifier or vaporizer to the bedroom and to turn it all the way up. When your throat and nasal cavities are dry, the air passing through them is going to cause the tissue to vibrate. Many people snore more in the winter and other cold, dry months. It seems odd that these little appliances are great cures for snoring, but they really do work for many people. And if you get a good vaporizer, you can add some of the menthol and eucalyptus oil as well. If you have back problems, you might consider a moist heating pad before going to bed, as this can help your lungs relax as well, and adds moisture to those areas.

If you have sinus problems, chances are you're going to snore. You should breathe through your nose when you sleep, but if your nose is plugged up, this is impossible. A good step in figuring out how to stop snoring with a plugged nose is to figure out why it's plugged in the first place. If it's not a simple cold or temporary condition, see your doctor. Asthma or allergies should be treated with medication, and chronic breathing problems need more serious help.
can be an annoying problem that patients suffer from on an almost yearly basis. The change in seasons, often times from warm to cold, can trigger a sinus headache. Sinus headache typically forms when the small cavity behind the nose becomes filled with excess mucus, putting too much pressure in that area. This can present as a sensation of builtup pressure just above the eyes and behind the nose. This pressure can become quite uncomfortable and even painful over time. The prelude to a sinus headache is usually a stuffy nose and congestion. If a cold or congestion extends for a prolonged period, it can very easily develop a sinus headache.

Prompt treatment of congestion and colds is the best way to prevent the occurence of a sinus headache. Whenever a cold or congestion initially strikes, try to treat the problem immediately in order to alleviate stronger symptoms. Overly dry air can quickly lead to a sinus headache as well, so a humidifier can be a good solution as well. Sinus headaches normally develop as a result of pressure building up behind the nasal cavity that is not promptly released.

The problem can become painful if the mucus in the nasal cavity becomes infected by bacteria or a virus. Prolonged colds and congestion are a breeding ground for bacteria. When bacteria infects the nasal cavity, it can lead to swelling and irritation. Significant pain when sneezing or blowing, in addition to a fever, are definite signs that an infection has taken hold. Sinus headache can reach painful proportions if left untreated for a significant period of time. See a doctor promptly, and they will typically prescribe both antibiotics and decongestants to treat the issue.

It is important to treat infections quickly. If left alone, sinus headache can actually become life threatening when the infection spreads out of control. Sinus headache can be easily controlled with a combination of decongestants and antihistamines. The earlier the problem is caught, the more effective the treatment can be. Ignored sinus headache can develop into serious infections that are difficult to get rid of and very uncomfortable. In severe cases, blocking off the sinus cavity completely may be necessary.

If the humidity level regularly exceeds 50% you may experience a rapidly increasing dust mite population, which will affect allergy sufferers. Permanently damp rooms tend to have a musty smell. The damp air is a perfect breeding ground for mold, mildew and fungus, which can cause serious health problems. Where ever possible the cause of such conditions should be removed, but it is not always that simple and a dehumidifier may be required. A modern dehumidifier with built in humidistat can be programmed to maintain a humidity level below 50%. There are many available, so it is important to find the correct type for your situation. A practical guide to dehumidifiers can be found at Dehumidifier Tips.com

Consistently low humidity levels are also bad. This tends to occur when the weather is cold outside and we turn up the heat in our homes. The most noticeable effects are a sore throat and sinus pain, symptoms that are common in modern society at certain times of year. You can also get dry skin and itchy eyes. The solution is to buy a humidifier that will put moisture back into the air. Like dehumidifiers, these can be programmed to operate automatically, and there is a huge range available that make the most of a variety of different humidification techniques. You can find out more at the humidifier web site.

If any of these symptoms sound familiar, maybe you should buy a hygrometer (humidity meter) and take some readings to find out if humidity is the cause. With modern technology at your disposal there is no need for your health to suffer.

The problem is especially bad during periods of cold weather, when we shut ourselves in doors and turn up the heat. Don't panic! All you need is a humidifier, but which type should you purchase?

Single Room Humidifiers

This is by far the most common type of humidifier in use today. Being small makes them cheap and portable, which everybody likes. There are several different styles available, and it's important to choose one that is suitable for the size of room where it will be used. Some people prefer these as they offer complete control over the humidity of your environment. If you buy a particularly tiny portable model, you can even carry it around with you from room to room. Of course, if there is only one room of the house that is particularly dry, it would be silly to buy a huge humidifier that can deal with the entire building. It's a matter of choosing the correct type for your needs. Click Here to Read Details of the Main Styles of Humidifier.

Furnace Mounted Humidifiers

These are usually connected to the furnace, so you have to make sure your heating system is compatible. If it is, then this could be a much better solution. The main advantage is that these whole house models require practically no maintenance at all. They are usually connected to the mains water supply, and have special monitoring equipment within them that ensures the best possible humidity level can be maintained. Being out of the way is also a bonus as they are not taking up valuable space in your main living rooms. Click Here to Read More About Whole House Humidifiers.
You buy the materials that you need and bring them home. Now what? How do you install your new floor properly so you can enjoy it for many years? One of the first steps you should take is to inspect your materials. Bamboo is a natural material and will have slight variations in color. Any material that has serious defects should be returned to the supplier if at all possible.

What about Floor Preparation?

One important step in bamboo flooring installation is being sure that the subfloor is sound. Because of the properties of bamboo, particleboard subfloors are unacceptable. The subfloor should be either ¾” OSB, 5/8” plywood, concrete or an existing solid wood subfloor. This will help keep the moisture content down so the adhesive used to lay the bamboo will not fail. The subfloor must be level to ensure the best possible installation. If the subfloor is subject to moisture, it shouldn’t exceed 2%; otherwise it should remain dry year round.

Now Can We Install?

Humidity and temperature should be consistent for ten days minimum before installation. If a room exceeds 80° or falls below 50°, or if the humidity is allowed to fluctuate higher than 65% or lower than 35%, most warranties will be voided. A dehumidifier or humidifier may be used to regulate the conditions of the room where the floor is installed. Always sweep the floor before installation begins. Dirt left behind will cause the floor to lie incorrectly.

To Nail, Glue, or Float?

Bamboo can be installed by nailing, gluing, or by using the floating method. If nailing, the planks should be started square with the room. Be sure that it is parallel to its longest length (achieved by using a chalk line). Make sure to leave a 3/8” expansion from any wall, base plate or other stationary vertical areas. Site made spacers are perfect for ensuring this. Once the starter rows are firmly in place by wedging or face nailing you can begin to add additional rows. Make sure you blind nail them directly above each tongue at a 45-50 degree angle. Also space your fasteners 10-12” apart with a minimum of two per plank.

Rather “Stick To It?”

Make sure that you use elastomeric moisture barrier wood flooring adhesive such as “Bostik’s Best,” or “Franklin’s 811 Plus.” Follow their directions on how to use, handle, and store the adhesive. Once you are ready to install, spread the adhesive with a notched trowel. Make sure to spread only as much adhesive as you will be covering in one hour so it does not have time to dry before the planks are in place. Once the glue has become tacky you are ready to lay the planks. The planks should be installed in the same manner as the nailing method, being sure to vary the tones in the planks as you go. Continue until the floor is totally covered. It is very important to remove any adhesive that gets on the surface. Once cured it is extremely difficult to remove.

How About Floating?

Using the floating method requires the installation of a suitable vapor barrier and/or underlayment between your flooring and the subfloor. This also includes taping the seams to ensure full coverage of the subfloor. One recommended adhesive is E-Z Bond (Medium Viscosity formula 1-866-239-2663). Remember! This material “sets” in approximately 15 seconds (it is kin to “super glue”). Before you glue the planks together, make sure they fit properly. Begin the installation using spacers to make sure that the recommended expansion perimeter is maintained (3/8”). Place the groove of the starter row against the wall and apply the adhesive along the bottom of the groove. Quickly tap the planks together using a tapping block. Also apply glue to the bottom side of the groove at the end joints for the first several rows.

You have installed your new bamboo flooring. Now you can sit back and enjoy the elegance and refinement that it brings to your room. Remember, keep the humidity and temperature under control and you will be able to enjoy your bamboo floor for years to come.

Sleep Position and Snoring: Is there a link?

You may have heard that sometimes there is a connection between your Sleep Position and Snoring. In many ways this is correct as snoring happens when a person starts breathing through their mouth rather than their nose. This dries up the throat and causes the tissue in this area to vibrate as air passes over it which is the noise we call snoring. Obviously your mouth is more likely to fall open when you sleep on your back, so you see an obvious connection between this sleep position and snoring. Keeping yourself on your side or stomach is going to help with the problem of snoring tremendously, although this can be difficult for some people. There is the common advice of sewing a tennis ball into the back of your pajamas so that when you roll onto your back you feel that and are pushed back onto your side. This advice when it comes to your sleep position and snoring cessation can actually backfire as of course it's very uncomfortable to roll onto a tennis ball and many who try this find they wake up during the night every time this happens.

A better idea for keeping yourself in the best sleep position for snoring cessation might be to use some pillows under one of your sides. This can prop you up even when you roll onto your back and keep you from being in a bad position during sleep. You can also try a body pillow or large pillow in front of you to clutch while sleeping; there's something about the action of keeping your arms and legs wrapped around such a pillow that keeps you on your side. The support you get in front might help to keep you in the best sleep position and Snoring cessation.

Your sleep position and snoring are not the only issues when it comes to this habit. If your mouth and throat are overly dry or if you have sinus problems, allergies, asthma, or are severely overweight you can also find that you snore constantly. All of these conditions should be treated whether they cause snoring or not, but usually keeping your bedroom adequately ventilated with a humidifier or warm mist vaporizer can also help. While your sleep position and snoring is often related these other conditions can cause problems related to snoring and may need the attention of a doctor.

Natural Asthma Treatment - Quick and Easy

Asthma affects 1 out of every 15 students. It impacts every facet of their lives: social, academic, physical and recreational. Many individuals seek out quick and natural treament for their asthma attacks instead of loading up their bodies with chemicals. Keep in mind, though, that asthma treatment
using natural remedies hinges on the specific trigger at the root of the attack.

There are a variety of triggers and processes that can lead to an asthma attack. Among the many triggers are mold, pets, chemicals, smoke, perfume, cleaning agents, food allergies, emotional stress, environmental allergens, changes in barometric pressure, cold temperatures, and pests like rats and cockroaches.

The range of treatments for asthma attacks encompasses steroids, drugs and ongoing medical intervention. An immediate way to naturally treat your asthma is to avoid common triggers such as stress, pollutants, chemicals and pets. Some triggers are unavoidable such as barometric pressure changes and cold weather or pest droppings in buildings that require your presence.

Other triggers such as emotional stressors can be treated with natural remedies such as stress reducers. Others rely on organic foods and herbal supplements that can help reduce the possibility of suffering an attack.

Another way of obtaining natural relief from asthma symptoms is to build up your immune system and reduce the constrictions of the air sacs found in the lungs. Adding aerosolized hydrogen peroxide to a humidifier enables the asthma sufferer to metabolize a greater amount of oxygen.

Adding hydrogen peroxide to the humidifier has been shown to have a positive effect on increasing the amount of oxygen that is able to be used. Adding the hydrogen peroxide will vaporize the product but will also bleach out the wall and curtains near the vaporizer. With the consent of your doctor and appropriate methodology the hydrogen peroxide can be added to the machines that deliver your bronchodilator.

This method works to eliminate attacks and helps to enhance your immune system, but it doesn't get to the root causes of the disease. Other methods of decreasing emotional stress will also give immediate natural relief for an asthma attack caused by stress. One method is the use of Reiki or a Japanese technique used for stress reduction and relaxation that promotes healing.

In English, the meaning of Reiki is usually translated as “life force energy”. When your life flow is reduced, your chances of getting sick and experiencing stress are higher. With heightened Reiki comes more happiness, health and capability. Reiki can provide immediate natural relief for asthma that treats the whole person – body, emotions, mind and spirit.

Using prevention and stress reduction will help decrease the need for medications and immediate natural relief for asthma attacks.

Do You Need to Buy a Cigar Humidor As A Gift

There are many understandable reasons why every cigar smoker should have a cigar humidor. The cigar humidor is basically like a cigar humidor humidifier, which keeps your cigars at just the right temperature, making sure that they stay fresh and tasty until you go to smoke them.

Proper cigar storage is crucial, and the only way to properly store your cigars is with the right cigar humidor. If you do not store your cigars properly you may encounter one of a few different problems, such as the cigars will end up burning unevenly or having too rapid of a burn, or the cigars ending up with a bitter or harsh taste.

Cigar Humidor Features

Although the specific features will vary from one cigar humidor to another, there are a few basic features that tend to be the same among all humidors. Almost all humidors have three features in common: Spanish cedar which is considered as being the finest type of cedar, humidification unit which is a device that is attached to the inner lid of the humidor that includes a housing and substance to hold the moisture, and a hydrometer which indicates the humidity.

It is important to make sure that a humidor has these three necessary features before you go ahead and purchase it, because otherwise it may just be a plain cigar box and will not offer the feature of maintaining a proper temperature.

Cigar Humidor Setup and Care

You really need to be concerned with the setup and care processes of your cigar humidor. To clean you should submerge the humidifiers in distilled water until well saturated, and then dry off the surface of the humidifier and place on a towel for approximately one hour to make sure that no dripping occurs because this may end up ruining the box.

Although some cigar humidor manufacturers will tell you that you can dampen the humidor with a water filled sponge to clean, this is honestly not the best idea and if you want to keep your humidor in the best possible condition you should really avoid this altogether. If you subject raw wood to water it may end up swelling, or cracking, and the sponge may even contain particles that end up contaminating the humidor.

Just make sure that you take your time and see what is out there in terms of a cigar humidor selection, so that you can find the best one for you and one that is going to last you.

Humidifier Use In The Home

Time to start sharing some articles. Here's one by Kelly Gillis. Let me know what you think by leaving comments!

Humidifiers get a lot of use in baby nurseries. When baby is having a breathing problem due to illness, improving and moisturizing the air will help him/her breathe easier. But, humidifiers are not just for baby.Very simply, a humidifier puts moisture into the air. This moist air makes it easier for anyone who suffers with allergies, asthma, sinus headaches or swollen nasal passages to breathe. Humidifiers also help prevent dry skin and hair and static electricity in the winter time when the heat is on in the home. Humidifiers can also be beneficial for the home by preventing over drying of wood, peeling of wallpaper, and preventing cracks in drywall and plaster.Humidifiers can make cool mist or warm mist. A warm mist humidifier has been compared to being in a greenhouse, whereas a cool mist humidifier puts out cool air and will not make the air in the room warm. You will choose based on your personal preference. You can purchase humidifiers to handle one room, such as a bedroom, or nursery, or purchase a humidifier to handle a large space such as a whole house humidifier. There are many features available on humidifiers. You will probably want to look for a humidifier with an automatic shut off. It will turn off when the unit is empty. This is a good safety feature. Some humidifiers have built in humidistats. This can help when a humidifier is used frequently as they can make a room wet, or over-humidify a room. Some humidifiers come with an ultraviolet light that is used to kill bacteria in the water before it is dispersed into the air by the humidifier. Some humidifiers have quieter motors than others, and this can be important as they are often used while sleeping.Studies done by the government have shown that cool mist humidifiers can disperse microorganisms and minerals into the air. The EPA suggests that you use a bottled distilled water in your humidifier to help lower the mineral content in the air. Also, you should not humidify indoors to over 50% as high humidity encourages growth of biological organisms, such as mold, in the home. It is suggested you keep the humidity level in your home between 35-45%.It is very important that you keep your humidifier clean and follow the manufacturers suggested cleaning schedule.

Article courtesy of http://www.humidifier-guide.com

Introduction

I've been looking at humidifiers over the last few weeks and have become completely obsessed with them.

There are all sorts of exciting humidification techniques that are used, and the health benefits can be quite remarkable.

As I find new useful information on this subject I will post on the blog.

Please please please leave me some comments!
